I built this eight-room townhouse in the style of late nineteenth century, early twentieth century hôtels particuliers, generic in most western cities of the era, particularly the petit hôtel variant found in South America, similar to a traditional grand townhouse.
After carefully studying floorplans of many examples, I distributed the spaces as follows:
A sublevel with servant quarters, pantry, workshop, storage space, kitchen, and a sewage connected water closet;
first floor, with an entrance foyer leading to the staircase and the dining room (with a discreet service access leading to the kitchen below), and the salon behind it, each with it's fireplace;
the second floor, consisting of a foyer, living room, library, and private study, each room has a fireplace;
and the third floor, with a foyer, two bedrooms with ample closet space, and the master bedroom, with it's own fireplace, boudoir, and walk in closet, this floor counts with redstone lighting throughout; and finally, hiding behind the mansard there is an accessible ventilated attic for more storage space.
In keeping with the realism I'm trying to achieve, the house counts with foundations, water piping, connection to the city's sewage system, a ventilation outlet for every fireplace (chimneys) and a realistic timber frame with a masonry exterior; the roof is gravel supported by wooden slabs, to allow for a realistic collapse and aesthetically pleasing ruin should the building catch on fire (which of course I tested with an initial design)
