I initially built this Ice Palace as a tribute to RoosterTeeth's Achievemnt Hunter Let's Plays of Minecraft -- specifically episode 88: Snowbound. The original plan was to build the Ice Palace, set the chests and blocks inside and then bury the build in snow and have the players start playing my permutation of the 'Snowbound' game. Anyways, The server I was building this on closed, so I'm basically attempting to finish this via my single player.

--

When this is done -- I will have two builds. Firstly, I'll have a more conventional 'palace-esque' build that will be more practical as a standalone building. This build will also include more material-use (as the current materials used are specifically there to assist the 'snowbound' event) and patterns, as well as interior furnishing. And the second, as described above, I will have a build that is ready to be used as a build for a 'snowbound' event.

As of now though, the build itself is roughly 80% done, and should be finished by the end of this year (2015).

Lastly though, I WILL NOT put this build up for public download, If you want this build, you will need to contact me directly and discuss payment for it -- I do not give out things I've spent hours and hours on for free.

--I'll be uploading more pictures soon, I have quite a few pictures, unfortunately most of them have the chat box visible on them.

It has a good design, but it could use some more block-variety. Overall, not bad

I agree, there isn't too much block variety. Due to the initial purpose of this build being a mini-game/event similar to RoosterTeeth's Snowbound Let's Play, I tried keeping the material use rather bland so it would be difficult for players to find one another as well as finding any items or chests that would be buried. The more conventional build design I'm going to make offof this will have more variety and pattern I can assure you. I appreciate the comment though -- the interior does have more material use than the outside, and there's not many closeup pictures I have thusfar, so you'll have to stay tuned.

Your comment does spark a very interesting point: should Minecraft incorporate more permutations and variations of ice and snow blocks? I would have to say it should.

I can definitely understand that.

Also, I agree that more variations of ice and snow blocks would be nice. Any new blocks usually give builders more options.
