This is my second build submitted to Planet Minecraft. It's a small build, showing an Ice Serpent(you could call it a dragon if you want to, since it's not strictly a serpent) twirling inches above a small desert temple. Note that the included schematic includes both the temple and the serpent. The landscape is just a desert I made using World Painter in a singleplayer world, nothing fancy.
~Lore~
The natives of this desert were actually refugees from another world. At first, they settled here because the lands were originally covered in frost and snow-it was perfect for them. But due to continental drift, the extreme cold turned into extreme heat. The winters turned mild, the summers unforgiving and harsh. Upset by the change in their home, the natives created a temple dedicated to their God of Frost, the Ice Serpent.
Several months passed, and the natives were suffering increasingly from the hostile conditions of the desert. Finally, the priest of the temple recieved a message-"Go underground. There shall be food and water." Confused, the priest searched the temple for his deity, only to find that the entrance now led to a set of massive, underground caverns! Further exploration proved that the message was right-many of the lower caverns were flooded with fresh water, and the beasts that had disappeared from the surface had simply migrated to these underground lakes. After excitingly spreading the news, the native quickly decided that they couldn't stay on the surface any longer; they had to move.
With the ruins of these people now completely in rubble, and the landscape of the desert scarring from the unhospitable heat, the only things that remained were the temple and the village built below it.
Note: The project includes only the temple and the serpent. I haven't built the village or the ruins yet, or anything to pretty up the landscape a little more. And since I've built and submitted this just for fun, I'm not sure I will continue working on it, hence why it is labelled as 100% complete. Also, the Schemagic textures don't entirely work, so you'll have to rely on the snapshots for that.
