Personally I would expect a bit more open market with little stalls. But I think that's more for a city instead of a village like this.

Anyway you got me inspired to make myself a japanese village, although I still have to figure some things out as I don't want to make all the builds the same as yours.

I tried to make it open first but it looked really bad...So I chose to go with this option. I am glad that I have inspired you to build Japanese village!!! I really can't wait to see it.
