NOTE: This requires at least 15w31a.

This device adds jet packs to vanilla Minecraft. Jet packs can be used to fly in Survival mode (as well as Adventure mode and Creative mode). To use a jet pack, hold it in your main hand and jump or walk off a ledge.

Jet packs require fuel. To refuel, hold a fuel bottle in your off hand. Note that fuel levels apply to players, not jet packs. Cheat jet packs require at least one unit of fuel, but do not consume it.

How to add jet packs to an existing world:
  1. Install MCEdit if you don't already have it.
  2. Download the MCEdit schematic.
  3. Paste it into your spawn chunks. (If you don't put it into the spawn chunks, it will still work, but only within a certain range.)
  4. While not strictly necessary, I strongly recommend disabling command block output with ‘/gamerule commandBlockOutput false’ and ‘/gamerule logAdminCommands false’.
  5. Enter Minecraft and turn on the jet pack controller using the ‘Main Power’ switch.
Alternatively, if you don't want to use MCEdit, simply download the world file (direct downloadFileDropper) and play it on the snapshot.

Changelog
Version 1.2 (World download · World on FileDropper · Schematic download)
• Added “cheat jet packs”, which still require fuel, but don't consume it.
• Added a warning when the player is low on fuel while using a jet pack.
• Jet pack exhaust now harms players and mobs.
• Fuel is now limited — you cannot refuel if you already have more than an hour of fuel.

Version 1.1 (Unreleased)
• Jet packs now require fuel.
• Added fuel bottles. Hold a fuel bottle in your off hand to refuel.
• You now have to jump or walk off a ledge to activate a jet pack. This prevents accidentally flying when picking up or moving a jet pack.
