Have a look at Kii's fellow Hachi-Hachi Plan ship, the battlecruiser Amagi in her 1920s and her hypothetical 1940s configurations; the battleship Tosa, in her historical 1922 configuration undertow in Nagasaki Harbour, her 1920s configuration, and her hypothetical 1940s modernization.

The Kii-class battleship was a planned class of four fast battleships to be built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during the 1920s. Only two of the ships received names. They were intended to reinforce Japan's "eight-eight fleet" of eight battleships and eight battlecruisers after the United States announced a major naval construction program in 1919. However, after the signing of the Washington Naval Treaty in 1922, work on the ships was suspended; one pair was cancelled in November 1923 and the other in April 1924.

The version constructed in Minecraft represents the final draft design of the Kii class battleships. Please note that on paper, the Amagi and the Kii were superficially identical, which is reflected in the minecraft versions I've built. The only difference is that I chose to build the Amagi according her original draft design,- otherwise, Amagi and Kii would be visually identical.

I can promise, however, that the 1940s modernization of the Kii will be significantly different and hopefully a treat :)

Notes on construction: Built to scale. No interiors, I'm afraid. I have also refrained from using iron fences or cobblestone walls. I can't stand the texture of cobblestone in the default texture pack, and iron bars connect in ways I sometimes find inconvenient. I aim to stick to as few different types of blocks as possible when building, which makes it easier to change materials in MCedit for anyone may wish to change them after having downloaded this.

I will be focusing on the hull of the Number 13 class battleships. Having a lot of trouble, I'm afraid,- they have the exact same beam as the other Hachi-Hachi Fleet ships, but are about another 10%~ longer than the next longest class of ships. Trying to keep the curvature of the hulls is making them very round amidships,- which I'm not altogether happy with. I may need some suggestions, from the veterans on the site for ideas...

No ETA, but I do intend to get the last ships of the Hachi-Hachi Fleet done soon.
