Giralda is the name given to the bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa María de la Sede in the city of Seville, in Andalusia (Spain). The lower part of the tower corresponds to the minaret of the old city mosque, from the end of the 12th century, in the Almohad period, while the upper part is a superimposed construction from the 16th century, in the Christian period, to house the bells. .
