The MAKO Mark II destroyer eschews mainstays like crew comforts and an aerodynamic profile in exchange for titanium-alloy armor plating and more than five times the firepower of the Mark I. With the vessel newly insulated for spaceflight, the Mark I's engines have been modernized and the upper deck's elevators have been supplanted by two tri-barrel SoulGen siege cannons, all powered by an upgraded fusion powerplant. Virtually all unused areas in the Mark I's design have been filled with ammo storage for the increased armament of the Mark II. To compensate for the lack of deck space, a small dedicated hangar bay has been added to the vessel's stern. Additionally, each Mark II can launch six more Shortfin-class drones compared to the Mark I. The max speed of 85 knots is somewhat slower than the Mark I's, but the Soul Drive's ability to access slipspace is a massive advantage. Automation is critical on the Mark II, with the minimum crew requirement set at just 10. A slick, darker color scheme has been given to the Mark II in celebration of the new regime. To summarize, the Mark II is a significant improvement over the Mark I in almost every way and will replace it in all future campaigns.
