Here is my hand painted rainbow coloured mesa desert in World Painter, you can not find these colours in normal Minecraft, there are no blues in the normal ones, but I had the great deal of trying to create it in World Painter since all of the colours are in there. It took a while but I have a technique for creating the rainbow look. This would be create for a type of fairy land, or crazy mushroom world. I might create a city within it myself, thinking about it. Enjoy in any case.
