I built this during a lockdown back in 2020, it was meant to be a nice mansion style house with tudor elements, i built it rather quickly as i remember (just over a week) because i used a method i have been using for years, skeleton framing (you can see that in one of the pictures) i also built it around a tree, because i wanted a similar vibe to crystal palace, i also used a new method that i was planning to try, each wall is 2 blocks thick, consisting of an internal wood clad layer and the exterior bricks, that also meant i used tinted glass blocks on the inside and normal glass blocks on the outside, the second floor is a false jetty, meaning that it's three blocks thick! in all i wanted it to have four floors and in the end i managed it, from basement to the loft, it has four floors, for the window design i chose arch with gold keystone, because i wanted something ostentatious, but due to space problems the fourth floor had "slit windows" which you can see in the pictures.

By far the strangest part i did was the half-roof, because of that tree, i wanted to make an atrium, but you can't do that with a traditional gable roof, so i decided to only make half the roof, and have an access to the flat roof, the atrium consisted of two layers of tinted blue and grey glass blocks, i thought it would make the sky look nicer but it never did.

The interior was clad with wood log blocks and occasional carpet, i used tinted glass heavily in the design, especially for a room on the 1st floor that had a square red/black checkered window.

During construction i had to restore from a backup after my computer crashed before i could save, the corrupted version i destroyed with fire.

Before i go any further i need to note that everything here is from memory and screenshots because i haven't been able to play MC in a while due to some problems, if i can find the world i will upload it though.

On all floors lighting was provided by glowstone, because glowstone is actually brighter then redstone lamps and are easier to work with, both gables were also illuminated by glowstone and three beacons were on the flat portion of the roof.


The horses were my brothers idea....


During construction i made extensive use of scaffolding blocks, as well as half-slabs and stairs to make things look nicer, i can't remember if i built a porchway or not, but it's not in any of my screenshots.
