Hey, after a hiatus from all this quarantine has let me come back to it.
Today I present you with the fictional Soviet Molniya (Lightning) Class Destroyer. Loosely based off of the Sovremenny and Slava classes, I feel it has a pretty realistic premise.
A bit of background info:
This class of destroyers were built around the 1970's/80's. All 4 ships that were built were kept with the Russian navy after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Similar to their bigger battlecruiser brothers, they had nuclear powered propulsion which allowed them to stay at sea for much longer than your average destroyer. Therefore when supported by replenishment vessels, could remain in a theatre of combat longer than their Western counter parts.
The vessel has the capacity for 1 Ka-27 helicopter, that could be used for recon, or equip a 30mm gun/torpedoes.
Also included in its arsenal is the following:
Any feedback is welcome.
Enjoy!
