This is a great project for you. I like that you actually have the opportunity to build your own house. Nice to use minecraft as a drafting/modelling tool as well. I had a friend who used minecraft for that for his thesis. It's a great way to give a general idea while going in with AutoCAD/ArchiCAD or Revit would get the fine details a contractor would need in construction drawings. Be really neat to see a blog on this for progress on it. One critique, might need some structure or columns for the cantilevered window up on the second floor. Other than that, it looks very plausible and looks great overall. Keep it up

Minecraft is nothing short of a architecture software. From playing 3 years back and recently rejoining again I've come to even use Minecraft in putting forth floor plans and designs when it comes to room designs even in the house I live in. With entering university this coming September its insane to see just how much your brain can open up when reintroduced to a previous game setting.
