No Way Back - A Backrooms Experience By YoungFlakeSir

Description: I know, i know, there are like a gazillion of these but I just decided to do one myself for fun. What's the harm in that right? With 15 Levels from the backrooms, each with their own escape, can you solve, run, survive, and escape the backrooms? This map does contain a fair bit of resource packs and add-ons, but that just makes the map EVEN MORE spookier! This is a lengthy map, so expect to work on this for a while ;)

MINOR JUMPSCARE WARNING FOR KITTY LEVEL.

You might have to watch the video on YouTube

There are two endings, the normal and secret.
I posted a previous version of this map, but my friends told me to take it off since it was not yet finished.
According to the game, it took me about 5.4 Days to complete the map.

You should add Level 3 of The Backrooms!

This map was almost good. But finding out you have to have found 6 music discs and having to go through the map again was kind of a kick to the face. You should probably hint somewhere that the music discs are important. Also, I don't know if the final boss is working correctly, how are you supposed to destroy the core? I can't find any glowstone anywhere.

Alright I'll make sure to show that the music discs are important. Also, for the final boss you can mine the core with a pickaxe either you crafted or found in the Caves, you could also slowly punch it using your hands. I really do appreciate the feedback so I know what to work on.

That's good! Here's some more feedback.

I think there should be a pickaxe somewhere in the final boss room since it isnt hinted anywhere that you would need to keep one. You get so many items that the pickaxe might seem useless after the cave level.

I also think crafting should be more highlighted since you get so many things with no explaination, maybe a book or something that tells you about useful things you can craft.

Another thing I would like to highlight is that I think the spawnpoint in the final boss room is broken, because when we died we respawned in kitty's place and had to run through that entire section again. I don't know if this was a bug because we played in multiplayer or if there is no checkpoint at the final boss, but it seems like there should be one.

Also, a bug we encountered, if you run back into the tunnel during the final boss fight, the redstone triggers again and starts another boss fight, so we had two creators in the room.

Kitty's house was also a very tough experience (at least on multiplayer), because if one player dies, both die, which leads to a lot of dead bodies and it becomes very hard to regain all your items. I think that playing with keepInventory on is a better idea on this map, because in some cases its too hard to collect all lost items before Kitty kills you again.

The fear of losing all items could be a good thing, but during segments like kitty's house or Level !, or any chase segments, It's too stressful and hard to loot back your items while under a timer.

But I really want to say that everything was very enjoyable before kitty's house and the final boss. I love it when a backrooms map isn't just a bunch of maze levels, The Pool Rooms and Level ! were really fun highlights.

1 - I think I have two solutions for the first: I could make it where there are a number of pickaxes in drawers in Pt. 1 of the Kitty level implying that a pick axe will be needed eventually without actually breaking the immersion and telling the player outright. Another option is that I put a corpse with a pick axe in the The Hub similar to Level 8 - The Caves.

2 - When it comes to the add-on's crafting recipes I really leave it up to the recipe book to tell the player what they can make. You really dont NEED to craft stuff from the add-on so I just felt that whoever uses their brain and figures out how crafting stuff can help them are rewarded from their pro activity. Who ever goes out of their way for it will get good stuff.

3 - Yeah the map might have issues with multiplayer since I didn't really build it to be multiplayer friendly. From what I've seen you can play multiplayer but don't expect the teleports and stuff like that to be flawless because they will come with their fair share of bugs.

4 - I think I remember encountering this issue but forgetting to fix it. I can make it where a couple of seconds after the player leaves the entrance, a wall closes behind not allowing the player enter that room again (unless they die of course).

5 - I can put a lever at the spawn room with a lever that can turn KeepInv on/off so the player can easily choose without having to go into world settings even if they know how to change it.

6 - and thank you, it means alot when someone actually took their time to play and give feedback on the map I made. I'm glad you and your friend enjoyed it even though there are still a few wrinkles to be ironed out. I might also publish a walk-through video of my map and it's secret ending in case anyone else needs help on completing it once I fix what you have mentioned. :)

I think a walkthrough would be a really good idea. When it comes to Minecraft Maps, not everything is super obvious to the player. When we first found some of the gumballs, we just ate them to try out the effects. It was only after the map we realized that the purple gumballs could have been used to get to some of the important chests with discs in them.

Thank you for bringing this to light. I had no idea the link wasn't working until you brought it up, mediafire thought some parts of the world were copyrighted for some reason so I have now fixed that. I've changed the link to a google drive file so it should be working now. Thank you for your patience!
