Welcome towards my entry for CaraRose "Christmas House Decoration Contest"
The "Old Nordic" style
As the outside of the house was not change-able by the rules & I wanted different walls. I made double block walls. Making space for 2 layers of glass, starting the idea of making it "Old Nordic".
- Double windows & doors for better isolation
- Every room has it own fireplace (no central heating)
- No electricity -> fireplace as light sources (hence I have chosen for dark pictures)
These details are inspired by museums I have visited in the past in a Nordic country called Finland.
(while these museum shows houses from an time period while Finland in it's current form did not exist or was an independent country)
Presentation style
To complement this Nordic style I opted to go for dark pictures. Christmas is the time of the year when the days are the shortest (for the Nordic countries). Plus I tried to go for a bit cozy feeling/colours. To do that I went for bricks as a main building block, which is a creative deviation of the actual wooden based building materials.
Personally I appreciate more a thoughtful comment than a diamond.
So leave a comment if you like, having a question or not and say why :-)
