After a long break from building, I finally decided to work on something this summer.
Lore:
In the farthest reach of the Western badlands, there resides a powerful mage named Hgh'arul. From his residence in the drab and blasted landscape, he is able to harness the cosmos to do his bidding. He constructed a massive tower to capture and control a flaming meteor to power his arcane magics. From this bastion at the end of the world, Hgh'arul can now cast his magics with impunity. No one dares resist his might for fear of a flamig retribution...
Note by the builder:
This build is an experiment for me, of sorts. Its the first time I have attempted to build a large round tower with only designs; I'd say it turned out pretty close to how I wanted it. It was very interesting to try to build a tower with no windows, and it gave me a good bit of practice laying out and planning designs for the walls. Another part I enjoyed was the meteor on top, I think the flame effect turned out nicely.
The tower is ~100 blocks tall, built with a palette of mostly stonebrick and red+brown clay.
The download is in schematic form, with only the tower included (the terrain is for decoration in the screenshots).
