This plot was the 1st plot I made, and ironically it still feels like the best plot i ever made...
this plot was made over a year ago.
The design of this build i to be a small norse river settlement, able to provide just enough for for themselves whilst mining iron to trade.

No, there are good modern builds. Depends on the style (minimalist etc). Check out jduartemiller, jar9 etc and see how modern has been improving through time. When there was modern for the first time in Minecraft, the builds sucked. Now, there are pretty good builds that make you think if they can be done in real life or not and other questions.
NO ONE ever said that you need to make something special to get on the pop reel. There are some pretty generic (not pointing to anyone) medieval builds on the pop reel and let's not start talking about skins, where girl skins make like 70% of the pop reel.
It is personalized. It is HIS style which is different from others, even though the them is the same: medival/nordic. Also, you never, ever copy someone and get on the pop reel without getting banned/warned later (personal experience).
Let the guy be. Give him some real advice, tell him how to become better. Don't just check out a build and say something that helps NO ONE. If you don't agree with this, tell me? Who are you helping? You're discouraging morryatay, you started an argument and now you've lost my respect as a build team.
Morryatay, continue doing your thing. You will become a great builder. Keep in mind to be more detailed (but at the same time not messy) and to work a bit more on your builds. You should also update old ones now and then.
I would've also added what morryatay said down here, but he already did, so yeah...
