Welcome to my upgraded functional chess system.
I am planning to upgrade this system over time since it has some drawbacks.
And besides I don't think it is finished yet.
Features:
- Play against each other.
- Singleplayer, play against yourself (sorry no A.I.).
- 3d Objects.
Drawbacks:
- Size you wil need the distance render on far to overview the whole field.
- You can't change your pion on the overside of the field.
- Moving your tower and king in one turn rule, thought it is called roccade.
- The rule ''en passant'' isn't possible
- No auto game reset, it has to be done manually.
Planned upgrades in thought:
- Time clock.
- System to see who is on move.
- Reducing size.
- 3d objects with sand gravel (is going to be a bit hard).
- Anti cheat.
- Movement logic, see the possible actions
- A.I. to play against the computer.
Play instructions:
- walk towards a side, white or black.
- upstairs the two towers you will find 5 buttons
four cursor, and one selection button.
place the cursor on the unit you want, press the selection button.
It will disappear, place the cursor to his destination and press
the selection button again. It shall appear on the chosen place.
note. with these controls you can control all units, so you don't have
to change from tower every time when you play against yourself.
- Special rules like ''en passant'' use 2 steps example:
1: move your pawn to the right or left to slay the other pawn. 2: move your pawn one place forward.
Some system information:
- 2 counter systems for cursor movement, select, place actions.
- 64 (8x8) units of 7 bit memory with a 8 triple piston extender whit 2 controllers..
1 bit of ram to state the water. Water is used to make clear on who's side you are.
- 3 bit ram to store the selection and write down it on a other unit.
or just figure it out yourself on the map.
Do not re-upload this map and claim it as your own.
Using this map for server or video is allowed but give me credit through a link back
to this project page. A comment that you used it would be appreciated.

The point is I don't use command blocks.
So I have to make a sand/gravel changer but I don't have the space for it.
I could increase the size of the field but that means I probably go back to the original size and well than are the 3d pieces not good visible.
so in short, I don't think it will give a good balance features/size
Edit: I also gave you a diamond for it ^^
An AI would be hard, I think I do first the movement logic someday.
But before that I think I will do an other big redstone project first, got already something in mind.
Currently I am not looking for a redstone server at all. Singleplayer works more than enough for me.
Thanks for diamond =)
Anyway with my recent coaster I got some experience for my 3d objects with sand.
But the point is my laziness/impatience with this kind of projects. I am more happy that I have one instead of improving them although I work here and there on it.
Thanks for the diamond (also for the coaster) and glad that you like it =)
I am already busy with improving parts of the system.
So yeah it isn't finished for me.
If you plan on making 3d player pieces, good luck lol. If you don't use command blocks, there would be so many spawners that it might become more laggy than it already is :) Good luck anyways, I can't wait to see it when it's all done!
