This is the RMS Lancastria of the Cunard Line from 1924 (after her rename from Tyrrenhia (Anchor Line) to Lancastria). She was renamed because of spelling mistakes that her passengers did. Most famous because of her sinking in 1940. Its the biggest maritime disaster in British History. Hope you like the ship.
RMS Lancastria was a British ocean liner requisitioned by the UK Government during the Second World War. She was sunk on 17 June 1940 during Operation Aerial.
Having received an emergency order to evacuate British nationals and
troops from France the ship was loaded well in excess of its capacity of
1,300 passengers.[2]
Modern estimates suggest that between 3,000 and 5,800 people died
during the sinking — the largest single-ship loss of life in British
maritime history.[3][4]
