Saint Peter's Abbey was built in a sober Gothic style. It includes an abbey church with a Latin cross plan, a large cloister, a chapter room, outbuildings, a funerary chapel for the monks, and catacombs for the laity dug into the mountain. It is surrounded by ditches filled with water flowing from a spring.
