So this is an extended version of my Shadow of the Piston Adventure Map. You spawn in a village, the gates of which are malfunctioning. The gates will open at night and close during the day. You must find two keys on the island to open the underground facility, where there are a series of tests to complete before reaching the village gate control room

This newer map has a secret area in the underground facility, which has an Endgate, and an obvious mission to complete: Get a Dragon Egg!


There is a full project summary in the above link, which is still relevant, but long! So here I'm just gonig to list the cool things about this project:


A large island to explore, with mountains, valleys and an immense underground cave system.


A large village with 3 unique buildings: Breeding Barn, Woodshed, Potion/magic Hut.


The village is completely walled with gates (which open during day/night automatically) and a pier.


The village has lots of villagers and "talk signs", and a secret tofind.


There are 2 quests to complete. Each is to find a "key", which together open an awesome underground facility!


The facility is the next stage and uses LOTS of piston stuff.


The facility has a mob testing centre, agricultural area, Nether and End gate rooms, and more (check out vid)


The testing part of the facility has 25 challenges with save points and an observation route (with observers!)


At the end of the challenges is the village gate control room and a brig with prisoners who will have some secret info for you. This is about how to access the secret End research area in the facility. This area has an enderman observation and testing centre and an End gate room. There is also a secret vault (last pic). You must gather enough Eyes of Ender to open the End gate, defeat the enderdragon, and return with a dragon egg to place (with your name) in the facility.


This map has everything I've made in one big adventure! I hate the look of glowstone so I have as little of it visible as possible. The facility is fully lit with almost no torches or glowstone on show (magic!)

* I have another version of this map with a bonus island with a kewl underground level wich can only be accessed by gathering at least 15 redstone torches. The bonus island is to be a thank you IF this project gets enough good feedback to make it onto the featured projects list (which is my current life's goal, and source of great FrUZtrat#0N!!!) But I'll release the bonus island anyway soon as it's pretty much done. Video link:

Additional Notes

The village gates will open and close depending on the light level (day/night). Grass growth at a certain light level will cause a block update and this is then transtated to a redstone signal via a bud switch. I tried making a light sensor of my own, but was unable to make one as fast as the one I use in this map, which is the 14x Light Sensor made by last_username, link:
