Nice ! I like it ! But aren't the flags supposed to be the other side around ? I mean, if the ships are moving forward the flags should be going backwards ?

Yes, as the author said the flags are correct because the wind is coming from behind the ship. A lot of drawings made nowadays get that little detail wrong. I also used to think it was the other way around until I got my hands on a book about historical vessels, now it seems so natural this way :)
