Above the Clouds
In this picturesque world above the clouds, you use your minecraft knowledge to complete a set of custom advancements. In this relatively challenging version of skyblock, there are no surrounding islands you can bridge to. The amount of freebies is very limited, so as you go through the advancements, you'll learn more about minecraft. There is a book that provides some useful hints for if you get stuck. The premise
I got inspired to make this while playing DrTrog's Skyblock 4.09. Firstly, I wanted to make a map that was similar in potential, while giving the player less free resources. Secondly, I wanted to remove the harsh black fog that appears suddenly when you go below sea level. I also wanted to keep everything as vanilla as possible, so it feels like you're not playing modded. Finally, I wanted to remove the world border by changing the world generation. Immersion is very important to me, and I feel a border in a skyblock world removes all immersion.World generation
I modified the world generation in this map was, so there is no world border and the bottom of the world is at y=192. This puts the whole world above the clouds, creating an immersive skyblock experience. The world height is unchanged, so the build limit is raised by 256 blocks as well. As far as I know, I was the first one to make a void world generate with biomes. Versions
When you open this world for the first time, you spawn on an island with a book containing a selection menu. You select what version you want to play, then you're dropped into a Skyblock 5 world of that version. Currently, the available versions are classic, Cherry, Nether, and Between Worlds. Click the links to learn more about them. More will come soon!Vanillaness
As I mentioned, I value the vanilla feel of minecraft. The original skyblock was a challenge in vanilla minecraft, and I want this version to be the same. However, I want it to give the player the possibility of making all the farms a vanilla player could make. To that goal, I give the player a few items for a select few advancements. I also made some gamerules that allow the player to customize the vanillaness of the map.Skyblock Gamerules
Skyblock gamerules can be turned on and off by using a trigger command. The owner of the world can type in the command, and the gamerule will change. Friendlier Fishing
This gamerule removes a lot of items from the "junk" category of fishing loot. This increases the rate of useful junk items, while keeping the rate of fish and treasure the same. Enable it by typing "/trigger friendlier_fishing" in chat and reloading the world. You can disable it the same way.
Junk removed:
Leather, leather boots, bone, water bottle, string, bowl, stick, tripwire hook, and rotten flesh.

Builder's Delight
This gamerule makes all otherwise unavailable vanilla blocks available, either with crafting recipes or through other means. Enable it by typing "/trigger builders_delight" in chat. You can disable it the same way.
Adds crafting recipes for ore blocks, sherds, coral blocks, horse armor, cobbled deepslate, cobwebs, dead bushes, echo shards, enchanted golden apples, gilded blackstone, the snout banner pattern, spore blossom and tuff. Calcite is obtained by using a stonecutter on dripstone blocks. Ancient debris can be forged using a smithing table, with a netherite upgrade, a piece of netherrack and a nether star. Instead of nautilus shells, you can get hearts of the sea by fishing. If you fish under y=230, you may also reel in some glow ink sacs.
You can't use fortune on ores, they always return 1 piece of their material.

This gamerule adds the experimental recipe for bundles to the datapack. Enable it by typing "/trigger bundles" in chat. You can disable it the same way.
Free cam
A free cam feature is added to the datapack, so you can see your builds from a distance!Advancements
The map has custom advancements to lead you through all the farms you can make in skyblock. Most of them are made by me, but I took some of them from drTrog's skyblock 4.09. The book you're given in the starter chest contains some hints if you get stuck, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them below. Alternatively, you can join the discord, where we also share screenshots! Enjoy!Link to update page

13 Update Logs
1.20.6a : by Papa_Lovegood 05/04/2024 5:39:15 amMay 4th
Hi everyone! This update makes the pack compatible with 1.20.6. I changed the world generation, so now, structure hitboxes spawn. This means that the fortress and monument biomes will turn into plains biomes in your old worlds, but new players won't get them.
In this new version, the pack spawns structure hitboxes for pillager outposts, ocean monuments, swamp huts, and nether fortresses. Within these hitboxes, mobs spawn as they would in the usual structures. You'll find them at the same x and z coordinates you would find them in a regular world with this seed. Your new book (which you should get after updating) can be used to find their hitboxes.
Players with old worlds will not get structure hitboxes, because datapacks cannot change those settings. This means backwards compatibility is taking a hit, because I may introduce features that use the hitboxes in the future. For instance, with the raid farm nerf Mojang is doing in 1.21, farming redstone will be a lot harder. I'm adding swamp huts to combat that, but I'm not planning to change the world generation in future versions.
THE ONLY WAY TO PROPERLY UPDATE FROM VERSIONS BEFORE 1.20.6A IS THE FOLLOWING:
Open your old world and put your entire inventory, including any armor, in a chest. Stand on a block on the following coordinates: -35 257 -35
Download the entire map from the main page. Then, go to your saves folder. Go to your old world. Copy every folder except for the datapacks folder, but not the other files. Then go to the world you just downloaded. Delete every folder except for the datapacks folder, but not the other files. Then paste the folders from your old world into the world you downloaded. The world you downloaded should now be an up-to-date version of your old world.
You can use the /fillbiome command to change the newly created plains biomes to match the surrounding biomes. For example: "/fillbiome 90 200 100 100 230 100 nether_wastes replace plains" will replace the plains biome with nether wastes between those coordinates. If you have any questions about that, feel free to ask them in the comments or in the discord.
Heads up: I also plan to remove slime spawning in swamps in the 1.21a update, because the oozing potions will introduce a vanilla way to get slimes. I'll also remove the cobweb recipe from the builders' delight gamerule, because of webbing potions.
If you have any ideas for new versions, or spot any bugs, please let me know in the comments or in the discord.
That's it for the patch notes. Thanks for continuing to enjoy the pack everyone! Feel free to join the discord, I'd love to see some progress updates or answer your questions.
Have fun!

According to AdvancementInfo some of the agriculture advancements want odd things, like the "harvest a stack of brown mushrooms" having an info requirement of pointed dripstone
So long in fact that I couldn't unzip them to a Prism Launcher minecraft instance's worlds folder on my Windows 10 machine because the total filepath was longer than Windows could support.
Can they be shortened a little bit?
I removed that file in 1.20.4e, along with some others, so the longest filepath should be over 30 characters shorter in this version. Let me know if that helps!
