HISTORY:

A huge chemical plant of a special profile, built in the early 1970s, somewhere in the northwest of the Soviet Union. The plant was founded as a production of hydrolytic feed yeast for the needs of the country's agriculture. The first workshops in the chain were the hydrolysis yeast and boiler workshops, as well as the biomass drying workshop and the feed yeast granulation workshop. In 1985 the plant was awarded the name of the 60th anniversary of the USSR. In 1978, a modern and powerful complex for the production of technical furfural was built, and in 1980, a complex of workshops called "FURAN" was built, producing furfural, furfuryl alcohols, tetrahydrofuran (THF for the needs of the military-industrial complex).

Despite the collapse of the Soviet Union and hard times, the plant survived and continues to work under reliable leadership. The legacy has been preserved. Proudly keeps the legendary plant in memory of the past, being the world's last representative of the large-scale microbiological industry for the production of feed protein.

The map represents a large chemical plant, which can be roughly divided into parts:

HYDROLYSIS PRODUCTION:
1. Hydrolysis yeast shop. Built in 1973, modified in 1978. Inside there are huge hydrolysis units, separators, evaporators, mixers, condensers. The workshop is equipped with automation, locksmiths, several transformer stations, and household zones. An administrative laboratory building is attached nearby. Outside there are installations for clarification of the neutralized hydrolyzate, as well as for its cooling. The northern wing of the workshop is entirely dedicated to the production of feed yeast.

2. Central warehouse of bulk raw materials. Wood chips and waste are stored outdoors and then transported through galleries to the last floor of the hydrolysis workshop.

PRODUCTION OF FURFUROL:

1. FCC workshop (furfural-containing condensate). Here, furfural-containing condensate is released in evaporators and hydrolysis units. Large volumetric workshop with various equipment.

2. Furfural workshop. An appendage of the FCC workshop, a seven-story building, which is pierced from top to bottom by columns of furfural rectification. Pure technical furfural is obtained here.

3. Overpass for unloading finished products. Here, the products of the complex are poured into the trains from the warehouse.

PRODUCTION "FURAN"

1. THF&FA (tetrahydrofuran and furfuryl alcohol workshop). A powerful production workshop, partly working for the military.

AUXILIARY COMPLEX:

1. Mechanical repair shop. Equipment is repaired and examined here. (MISSING)
2. Boiler shop. Waste from hydrolysis production (lignin) is used as fuel. Powers the entire plant.
3. Depot and repair shop for locomotives + railway station "BKhZ" (MISSING)
4. Dining room. Greenhouses for growing vegetables. Located directly under the boiler room.
5. Central factory laboratory. Major research and experimentation.
6. Motor transport workshop. Garages and service car repair shop.
7. Pumping stations and industrial water cooling complexes (cooling towers).
