Here's My completed build of the SS Nieuw Amsterdam.
Built to the scale of 1.7 - 1 (70% larger) the measurements are
Length 393 blocks
Width 49 blocks (not including bridge wings)
A Big Thanks goes out to PranayTitanic (Hope this Link works) for his vast knowledge on the ship, for all the deck plans and photos from books he had purchased. This build wouldn't look half as it does had it not been for Pranay. If you haven't seen his profile please do have a look his version of this ship is far more accurate than my own.
Improvements to come. (Eventually)
Probably a total rebuild, I've yet to include a full sheer on any ship. This is something I now believe I'm ready to try, it came too late into this build to try. Other than that I'm happy with the detailing on the decks. I'd like to be able to nail down a year of the ship to model off but that means annoying Pranay with many more questions XD. Interior plans are non existent, been trying to do Titanic's interior for 6 years now...

Loving known as the Ship of Peace Nieuw Amsterdam was the second ship of Holland America Line to carry the name.
Constructed at N.V. Rotterdam Drydock Company she launched in April 1937. Her maiden Voyage was on May 10, 1938.
After only seventeen voyages, Nieuw Amsterdam was laid up at Hoboken, New Jersey in 1939 after the German invasion of Poland She would be idle for only a year. After the Netherlands fell to Hitler’s armies. She would spend the remainder of the war years as a transport for troops and prisoners of war, requisitioned by the British Ministry of Transport. Despite the fact she had been constructed without the consideration of being used in a War. Hence her Nickname The Ship of Peace.
The Nieuw Amsterdam triumphantly returned to her home port of Rotterdam on April 10, 1946, Where thousands of Citizens watched, waved and Welcomed her home.
Her refit took eighteen months and cost more than her original construction. She enjoyed a loyal following over the next 20 years, however come the Jet age she moved to cruising and given her age, running costs was raising. Unable to compete with newer cruise ships. She was sent to the breakers yards in 1974
Nieuw Amsterdam had been an icon on the North Atlantic for the better part of three decades, known for her refined interiors and impeccable service. Never built to be the largest or fastest ship on the Atlantic. She was built to represent the best of Dutch innovation and for that reason alone, she was one of the best ships the Atlantic had ever seen.
