This is the Geonosis Arena as seen in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. This was the location on the desert planet: Geonosis in which Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker were sentenced to death by the Geonosians using three creatures: The Acklay, Reek and Nexu.

It has always been my favourite scene from the film from when I first saw the film in 2002 when I was little. My admiration for it has stuck with me ever since, I now bring it to you in Minecraft.

I have tried to stay very accurate to the original design by pausing the film itself and working from behinde the scenes footage of the model and a cut-away diagram of the arena from the books.

The number of Porticullis gates along the inner wall of the circle of the arena are all placed as seen in the film along with the guard posts for an accurate representaion of this collosal battleground.

I hope this creation brings you many exciting battles and re-enactments from the film.

Note:
I don't mind if anybody makes videos or reviews with my map but of course please give credit with a link to this page preferably in the description.

If you need to be in creative mode you can change that with programs such as MCEdit. Although there are probably easier ways  such as with mods. The default game mode is peacefull.

Awesome!  Great work, dude!  ;)
Thanks!
I just saw your Lego version on LEGO Ideas, and it looks awesome!
I just realized that the description here had a link to the Lego one, but I actually came across it by chance when comparing this one to pictures from the movie.  Haha
Thanks! Have a few ones on there but that is the smallest most practical one.
A few?  You have around four different versions.  The sad part is that even if you get 10 000 supporters, they'll still reject it, because they reject anything and everything cool.  They had to choose between awesome builds like X-Mansion, Wayne Manor, and Invisble Hand, and you know what they picked?  Wall-E.  Fucking Wall-E.
I know right? And "it's to big" is not a excuse since the Lego designers could scale it down. In the most recent review they passed nothing.

Awesome arena! Wish you could have used more than 1 block for the terrain tho ;(
Not much to do there though it's all sand in the film.
I don't like sand.  It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
Hhaha.
Wow! So nice!

I changed the gamemode of the map to creative using mcedit, but when I'm on the map and try to change my gamemode, it says I don't have permission.
Did you allow cheats?
Oustanding work, considering you're still only level 8.  This'll likely change that, soon enough.  It's really nice, but the arena should be an oval, not a rounded square (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/ea/Geonosis_arena.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20070316041547).  I might use this in my SW map (//www.planetminecraft.com/project/star-wars-map-3435828/), if I can fix the shape.  Would you be okay with that?  Then again, I still haven't figured out a way to copy-paste Derentis' Coruscant map into mine (if my selection's too big, the server crashes), so I'll probably have the same issue here.
Have not uploaded it but I fixed the curves.
Fantastic!  Let me know once it's done so I can check it out.
Tis done as new project.
Yes, as long as you give credit on the projects description with a link if you use it. And yep I screwed up with the curves when I first made it, (used to be much smaller) but did not expand the curves. Would cause a lot of hassle trying to get it right now because of the gates and seats. Have to say thought it does retain the minecraft blockish look. :D
When I use it, I will fix the curves.
Cool. I'm updating some of the structure at the moment. Did you see the Dagoba Map I made?
Yeah, I just saw it, and it's not very good...  I'm sure you can do better.
Spectacular!

Look at what cubehamster has done and build a moving acklay, that'd be awesome!
The Star Wars mod should be adding the Acklay maybe along with the Nexu and Reek in the nest update or so. So I'll probably wait and recreate battles with that. That's cool though but it would be giant and complex.
That would win the internet!
