Love the exterior. One question though... how do you get the leaves to not die even when they aren’t touching wood?

Leaf blocks have two block states, distance from wood (1-7) and persistent (true/false). This can be seen in the F3 menu, at the right of the screen under the Display information. Naturally grown leaves are not persistent. This allows them to decay. Leaves placed by the player are persistent. They are unable to decay.

I placed them using WE, so trust me, without /gamerule they decay

That makes sense. I'm not familiar with WE, I've only ever used MCEdit, but I don't recall if block states were editable. I've been building by hand for about a year now since I updated my building worlds to 1.13.2. Little did I realize that it would make them incompatible with MCEdit ^^'

It's a world settings I have my tutorial about it here

and the exact command to do this is:

/gamerule randomTickSpeed 0

but you better learn what else it prevents in tutorial

(it's number 3 there)
