This is the largest Minecraft project I have ever undertaken on my own. It has been in progress since May 2013. Prior to building it, its measurements were drawn out on paper which took about two to three weeks. Currently, its moat is near completion. However, there is still a lot of work left to do, especially the interior.

This castle is made for more than just eye-candy. It is built to be a PvP map. It is a mighty fortress built to defend the Damiyo/Shogun from his rival clans and enemies & show off his power and wealth. The castle's name originated from a mountain near to it that resembles an eagle's head, and its location near a river.

Takagawa Castle is a flatland-mountain castle (hirayamajiro) built on top of a small hill. The main keep's design is based on Nagoya Castle's main keep. It has three layers of walls made of wood, stone and quartz, ten watch towers, two gates, and so much more yet to come.

When completed, I hope to see this castle be turned into a ferocious battleground on PvP servers and have players fight over for control of Takagawa Castle. Since this castle is built by one person, I hope the castle would be finished by May-June 2014. Delays may occur during construction.

I am currently working on a new update for the castle. There will be some minor changes made to the castle. It will come with a new area where the attacking team can start from.

It is a great build. However you need to think thorough about the way how roof are organized. It would be great if you can use a block and a stair together to make the thile pattern more vivid. Also use the slab if you can so that the roof looks like actual tiles.

I appreciate your critique on the roofs. I will put it into consideration for future structures built within the castle grounds. Changing the roofs on existing structures would delay this project even further, as raising the water level in the moat already has.
