Update: I forgot to mention: no command blocks, so just a proper redstone design.

This is a really fast, stable and reliable lift system for multiplayer 1.8.
Multiple players can use it at one time with everyone getting to their desired station.
Just download and try it out! It's easy to use.

This lift is event-based. Meaning: If no one uses it the lift will do nothing at all, no redstone activity, etc. BUT chain events can take some time (the restored items can take multiple minutes until the item restore system get to rest, althought that doesn't consume much activity).

!!! For worldedit implementation into your own map read the copypaste-manual at the bottom of the description carefully! !!!


Minecart Lift v2 quick facts

=> designed for 1.8 multiplayer <=


building area:    18*40 blocks
building height:    246 blocks (including bedrock layer at the base)
stations:        7 + 1 special station at the base
height difference between two stations:    32 blocks
time to travel from station 1 to station 7:  32s (192blocks height difference) => 6 blocks/s average
time to travel one station up: 9s (32 block height difference)=> 3,5 blocks/s average

Automatic minecart restore system. You don't need to refill the carts unless MANY accidents occurred.
Easy to use maintenance system (lift can be shut down, etc.).


Extremely save! Tested in survival mode. No player damage occurs.
Extremely stable circuit build. Server and PC-friendly as much as possible.
Automatic error detections and resolving (e.g. if players disturb the system by hopping out of the cart manually).


Multiplayer ready! that means:
- multiple players can use this lift at once
- every player will get to the station he selected regardless of how many use the lift
- no buggy piston system that stuck players into walls like it's used in some piston elevators


Please don't ask for tutorials on how to build this thing.
There will be a video on how to copy this thing using world edit (step by step).
Maybe I'll do a video explaining the basic concept for everyone being interested but if a piston elevator looks complicated to you, you probably shouldn't try to rebuild this thing.
The lift CANNOT BE ROTATED (e.g. using world edit) to look into another direction due to inconsistent behaviour of railway switches.

What you need to know when using world guard:

If you're on a multiplayer server, you probably want to protect this lift with plugins like WorldGuard. If you do so, make sure, the following events are NOT prevented:
- players using buttons
- players activating tripwire hooks
- players hopping into carts
- carts being destroyed by a cactus and dropping themselves as item
- redstone at all (including rails, hoppers, droppers, chest-carts, etc.)
- lava and water (if you disable lava blocks so they cannot exists it's not a big deal for the lift, but letting the lava blocks be will reduce the lag if items need to be destroyed which is unlikely to be happen anyways).


WARNING!
If you're using a plugin that manipulates minecarts like players being able to drive around with them without using rails the lift may not work properly and will have a lot of issues so NOT using a minecart plugin is highly recommended!
