The Charon Class Heavy Destroyer-Escort was a mass produced warship used by the Overworld Empire to combat a rising threat from outside the galaxy. Realizing that this mysterious power source was far too great to handle with the current ships of the line, the O.E. drafted designs for multiple, easy to mass produce warships that combined repetitive design with outstanding performance. As such, the O.E. first produced The Octus Class Medium Destroyer-Escort and The Charon Class Heavy Destroyer-Escort so that they could easily and readily prepare for any assault at any time from anywhere.

While both classes of Destroyer-Escorts are heavily armed, the Charon Class is so much more so. Calling it "bristled" would be a far understatement, as it carries over 1,100 individual weapon platforms, and it is very capable of perfoming its role in any fleet. Both ships come equipped with a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence system, allowing for a very minimal crew of 20 people to manage operations on the ship, but the design is also very modifiable, allowing for a max crew compliment of 200 for specific duties. Each ship also came equipped with a special weapon, disguised at the bow as a deflector dish while it was actually a very high-powered stationary superlaser beam. Firing this superlaser would drain the ship of almost all energy, however it would deal tremendous damage to almost any ship that stood in the superlaser's path, oftem completely vaporizing the opposing ship in the process.

In short the Charon Class and the Octus Class are very well suited for battle, as they are very capable of roles of defense and offense, and can easily be mass produced to create limitless hope for the people stuck within the battegrounds of war.

Octus Class
The ship has about half the number of weapon systems of the charon class as it was an earlier design that focused on reliability and survivability rather than functionality and a purely offensive role.

I used Minecraft to create the overall shape as well as for detail work on the ships.

This project is an altered version of my Space Battleship Airmantes which I lost 3 years ago due to an extreme data malfunction. I rebuilt the ship using a very early copy and remade it and tailored it to suit different purposes and went on to make varying designs and ships, so if you think that this is a copy, it isnt.
