The Dark Fortress of the North is an open-world adventure map meant for 1-4 players. The world is 1024 x 1024 blocks and surrounded by an ocean. It features a series of different biomes and while it has a story, this map is exploration-driven. Once you've left the starting area, you can immediately travel to any point on the map, with the exception of the final area.

The main quest largely revolves around completing three large temples, which are a series of challenges. These temples will guide you across much of the world, but there are still plenty of areas to explore far from the main quest.

There are also 100 collectible items: amethyst shards. Return the shards into the depths of the caves within the mountains to earn some of the best loot the map has to offer. The more shards you collect, the better the prizes you receive will become. Let me know how many shards you found in the comments below!

Progression throughout the map is largely based on the type of challenge you complete. The more challenging and time-consuming the puzzle you solve, the better loot you will earn. Complete easier challenges to prepare for more difficult ones.
