Hello, planetminecraft. I'm Hunter, and I'm here to share with you a very big project I'm currently undertaking, as it has reached a point where the scope of the project exceeds what I and my small build team can hope to accomplish in a realistic space of time, and we must begin recruiting other builders to help out if we want the project to succeed.
The Four Corners of Civilization acts as the setting for the Kingkiller Chronicle trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss, and this build aims to replicate that universe as well as possible in the hopes of some day making a great rp server from the finished product.
I'm well experienced in administrating servers and communities, and I already have an enjin website up for the project community, which I will share later on. The map is currently mostly landscape, but there are some structure's we've managed so far, and if our recruiting venture into planetminecraft proves successful, we hope to soon have many more.
Here we have the Dynmap, early on in the process, and for comparison, here is the map of the continent supplied by the book's wiki.
I consider this project to be a tribute to Rothfuss, as well as his wonderful books, and would appreciate any input, feedback, etc the community could give. But much more than these, I need experienced builders to help make this replica a reality. Spaces have been cleared in the minecraft world for every city you see marked on that map, and several that are not. Some of these are only small villages. Others, medium sized towns. But a great many of these are large, impressive cities. And so many of these, I cannot build alone.
Only a few locations you see here have been covered in the source material, and these can be built carefully under my direct instruction. But the larger majority of the continent is left largely undescribed, and so is left up to the agreed vision of the project's community. We'll have discussions on what sort of things to build where, and if we treat the project seriously and with dedicated care, I know we can create an impressive build that will leave a mark on the Minecraft community as a work of art.
I'll include additional screenshots along with this post. If you are interested in being a builder and taking advantage of the opportunity to be a part of something grand and beautiful, you must fill out the following application (from the MC Forum thread):
What is your Minecraft username?:
How long have you played Minecraft?:
What is your timezone?:
How many hours a week can you dedicate to the server?:
And then lastly, if you could post some screenshots of your builds (preferably in the fantasy style, and with a sign to verify you are the builder), that would be fantastic.
Also, if you have skype and would like to join the community chat, pm me with your skype username and I'll be happy to add you. You can also get updates on this project by joining the enjin community (which I just now created). To do this, go to kingkillercraft.enjin.com/joinus and permalink your response to this thread. The longer whitelist form is for future candidates when we release as an RP server.
The current texturepack (until we can get good artists to make our own) is Dokucraft Dark.
I look forward to reading your responses. Meanwhile, for reference, here is the current MC Forum thread

And here is the enjin community (must apply on either MC Forum or Planet Minecraft to join the enjin, the long whitelist application is for the future server)
