I made the Hive Death-Run (Map SafariValley, Temple)
this means that i tried to make it look like the original Hive Java Deathrun
to remember the DeathRun feeling like in the old times.

My thanks to HiveMC:

I started playing on the Hive server 6-7 years ago and it was the best server I
joined. Im thankful for your server that it could be online for that long
time I appreciate it that you tried to keep the server alive but everything
must have a ending :(

I will miss you Hive and thanks for the great time you gave us <3

Thank you so much :)

To start the game just type
/trigger Safari
/trigger Temple

or use the Diamond in the hotbar

You can also give yourself different roles with the following commands:

Death Role:
/tag @s add death
Runner Role: /tag @s add run
See the map: /team join build @s (allows you to have a look at the maps without any bugs)

If you are playing alone and start the map you have to be the Runner and if you want to stop the game just type /function end:finish

Spawnlocation is at -43 21 -654

If you got any questions just ask in the comments :)

Note:

The upgrade to 1.17 could still have some bugs if you want you can send me a feedback I appreciate it :)

Bug report:
The fire arrow traps in temple do not have a cooldown.

In any map once you beat the level as a runner as a spectator you can hit the death and other runners to screw them up

So I loaded this into Aternos and tested it out with a friend. I just got to say, WOW! Good job! However there were a couple of issues that I found while being on 1.17.1 and 1.17.

For now I have only tested one map and that was Safari and unsure as to if this affect's the other maps but. Outside the beginning area is two command blocks. One works, the other has a command that's all in red. The following command that's not working is the one that's supposed to teleport the death to the next trap and last trap using a head. (I am also not seeing the "previous trap" head either.) The leap I have no real issue other than is it supposed to automatically come into players inventories?

The other thing is that clicking the signs does not work to activate the traps. Is something supposed to be next to the signs to activate it? If there is, then please explain to me what I'm doing wrong!

Another thing also is that the diamond is not in our inventories when we spawn in the hub.

I'm fairly certain there's something I'm missing on my end causing things not to work so well?

This is very very very very amazing, I'm glad that you and others took the time to build these maps. This is the most perfect thing I've downloaded compared to others, and I hope massive bugs (or mistakes) like I reported are fixable. I hope more maps are coming! (Please make Western next...)

Thank you so much for your feedback :)

The Inventory management is broken during the upgrade to 1.17 I think I may have made one command wrong and the whole data pack is not able to function :/

The signs aren't for the trigger they are just to show which trap you are (trigger with the items in inventory... I think they are broken too right?

I appreciate that you took your time to write this comment :)
and thanks for your feedback :)

It's alright about the inventory management just as long as it's fixable! :D

I have realized the signs are not the trigger point, and are more to being slimeballs, or whatever Hive used on Java version.... (I play the bedrock version A LOT more than I should, ha-ha). But to respond to what you said, there isn't an item in the inventory to activate the traps, in fact there isn't anything in the inventory with or without the data pack installed.

Would it function better if I were to do this on 1.16.5 for now?

I appreciate how timely you are responding to people. :)

Update: I'm testing it now and there's a few minor differences I noticed between each map function and trigger wise.

When being solo and accidently do death and not runner on the Safari map, it automatically teleports me to the hub stats where the players finish (Which is supposed to happen.) However, when I do /function end:finish for that it doesn't reset the wall at the beginning when I switch to a runner to test it again. But as a runner, it resets the wall just fine as long as I'm in the map.

Also, I've come across a difference when endings on the maps happen. Meaning, when a runner makes it to the end portal. On the Safari map, it automatically teleports you to the podiums at Hub when you finish, and tells you that "[player] Finished 1st!" It doesn't reset the wall when you're at the Hub.

The Temple map is excellent. However, when you arrive and hit the ending portal, there's the spectator mode and then you'll have to type the /function end:finish. Safari map doesn't have a spectator mode, in which I think is why the wall after the 5 4 3 2 1 is finished, isn't resetting the wall unlike Temple where it resets just fine because I'm within the map and it's area. (Unless the spectator mode in Safari is when there are 2 players that are runners?)
Also sometimes, it takes 2 tries to trigger each map. Mostly Temple in this case I have to type /trigger Temple twice in order for it to go. Very rarely I'll have to do it for Safari.

If I might suggest, would it be easier if after every player finishes (Be it solo r not) that the "end:finish" and "end" would automatically happen?

I don't want to keep pestering you here about every single bug I find here in 1.17+, if you prefer to do Discord that way it'd be easier to tell you in detail, my profile name is Soubway#7020. This is a really good project and everything! :D And I, as sure as everyone else including you, don't want it to suffer with any bugs like this!

Thanks for your help to make the map work better :)

At the end when you are runner you should get instantly teleported when all players (runners) are in the end (spectator) they should get the end:finish automatically mabe I have to recode the end and the start.

The wall was an early bug I fixed it in temple but I forgot to do it in Safari :/

The trigger command works fine when I try I made it that it checks every tick when its triggered.
I will have a look if I made something wrong to the detection.

And I think I will make a Discord server soon :) if you want I'll add you on discord
