favorite_border This is my solo entry for the NVIDIA sponsored build event. I tried to make a minimally invasive, nature heavy, artistic build. favorite_border

About my village:
Nestled high in the towering rock pillars, above where the river opens to the ocean, lies the small village of Botanica. The village is set just out of reach of the omnipotent God Tree's shadow. The villagers of Botanica regard the God Tree with great love and respect, carefully carving out their homes and living peacefully while doing minimal damage to the forest. The shrine of the god tree, located within the edge of it's great shadow, is where the villagers leave their small gifts of appreciation. Children often leave flowers and seeds, while adults usually leave cute little wood carvings, or delicious sweets. The God Tree loves and protects the villagers, sending small tree spirits to light their lanterns every night, and blowing a mighty wind whenever any outsider has tried to scale the pillars up to the village, allowing the villagers to live in total peace.
During one week of spring every year the God tree illuminates itself, and this time is known as the Festival of Lights. During the festival the villagers allow for trading with outsiders. Trading is done by lowering and raising goods from the small dock below. Outsiders send up their offers, and in exchange the villagers send down their handmade fabrics, bamboo, precious metals made from the ores in the rock pillars, exotic dyes, foods, and potions from the village mystic. The villagers favor goods such as books, animals, and different kinds of seeds. Small vessels come from all sorts of neighboring villages, and some from very far away, to participate in the trading. During the Festival of lights, outsiders may also give a small thanks to the God tree, and bask in it's glorious light.
The village works together to provide food and services for one another, living in total harmony. They also take care of the wildlife, tending to the wild pandas and birds. In the center, the village has a small market, where villagers trade and share their goods with one another. Some villagers raise fish in ponds, some grow delicious fruits, veggies, melons and pumpkins, some carefully mine the cliffs for ores, and others raise livestock. Located in the market, the village mystic Brunhilda resides. She makes potions for the other villagers, and is told to be one of the most powerful witches to have ever lived. After a long life, she retired to Botanica to quietly live out her remaining years potion making. She is shrouded in mystery, and rarely emerges from her shop. She also communicates with the God Tree, and can sometimes be seen in the dead of night at the shrine whispering softly to the tree and giving her offerings.
The village leader has a large cabin atop one of the peaks. His most important job is to mediate the trading during the Festival of lights, but he also likes to raise fish in his large pond for the village, and study botany. Most times he can be found in his office, studying plants and writing notes on his findings for his books.
The people of Botanica live peaceful and happy lives. :)
Hope you like it. xo
PS: Sorry the b-roll video isn't great, it's my first time doing something like that T~T'' but I tried my best

favorite_border I've been in a rut of extreme isolation recently with my mental health,
And making that little map was hard to convince myself to do. favorite_border
favorite_border All the positive attention it got has really lifted my spirits, so again, thank you so much for the love!! favorite_border

I'm out of town atm so I can't pull it up but I can tell you if you look at the Event Map, it's on the left side where the rock pillar tree forest opens up to the ocean, touching the mesa biome. So sorry!
Perhaps it's a constructive idea to use Minecraft as a tool to balance your mental health. :]
