Hi there! Some time has passed but the first semester is finally over, so that’s nice. Today I finally present to you my model of the LNER A4 Class steam locomotives. Hope you all like it and to see you on my next project!
Certainly one of the world’s most famous steam engines, built in 1935 by Sir Nigel Gresley for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER), they served on the East Coast Main Line for most of their life time. Built for speed they present an elegant streamlining outside and inside, on the steam circuit, an innovation at the time. All this gave them a speed unmatched till today for a steam engine. Set on July 3rd, 1938, the Mallard, engine number 4468, achieved the top speed of 202.8 km/h (126mph).
It was quite a challenging model to make, mainly to get the front of engine shaped right. The model features a detailed cab and many details including the inside third cylinder.
This project consists of a collection of pretty much all liveries the engines went through, from the initial silver from the Silver Jubilee express service to the wartime full black livery. The scale as usual is 3:1.
Texture pack:
My own: Jf train and raiwlay adapted train pack.
