The Main Courtyard is my submission to the Server Spawn Contest.

The first thing you would have noticed is the rather large tower poking up from the centre of the courtyard. This is Beacon Tower, designed to be a guide back to the courtyard and also servers as a dual spawn point. Let me explain the steps a player will take on their journey after spawn...
1. When the player first joins the server they will spawn on the very top of Beacon Tower.
2. After jumping down some holes, into the tower itself, they will be greeted by the welcome sign (Shown above).
3. They will then make their way down the tower, reading several information boards on the way down (Also shown above).
4. On the last information board will be a set of instructions on how to set their new spawn point.
5. After following the instructions, their new spawn point will be set at the base of Beacon Tower.
6. ...
7. Profit?!

After setting their new spawn point players are able to roam around the courtyard. Within the courtyard are housed several places that players might like to visit...

The Enchanting Towers:
These towers are the main four that surround Beacon Tower. Each has an enchantment table set up inside for basic enchanting.

The Walkway:
If players just want to venture around, they can take a walk on the walkways above the courtyard and on the surrounding walls.

The Brewing Garden:
These gardens are located opposite the Enchanting Towers. each will be equipped with brewing stands, cauldrons and an infinite water source. Players with either need to bring their own bucket, bottles and ingredients, or they can buy them from The Underground.

The Underground:
The Underground is an area under the central area that will contain a shop where players can purchase with earned XP, items and other useful knick-knacks.

(In Construction) Admin Hall/Donation Hall:
Still trying to decide on the function of this hall. It will either be a place where Mods and Admins can come and talk or it will be a place that displays the heads of people who have donated and contributed to the server.

(In Construction) Dungeon:
Underneath the Admin Hall/Donation Hall, there will be a large series of rooms that will act as a jail. If players want to get out of the dungeon, they must survive the perils it holds. If they die in the dungeon, they will have to start again and do the trials again. The key to their release lies in the top of the centre chamber (Makes sense doesn't it?), where a final trial awaits... (Not telling).
At the moment the chains shown in the picture are only a design prospect, I would like to hear any feedback on them and if they're not that popular I'll re-design that platform without the chains.

Additional Notes

Suggestions:
If you have any suggestions concerning areas that are already in the courtyard, or areas that you might like to see in the courtyard.
Leave a comment and I'll see what I can do about incorperating your suggestion into the build.

AND PLEASE...
LEAVE A DIAMOND, COMMENT AND/OR A FAVOURITE.
It helps!

DISCONTINUED : by Gypsy_ 05/18/2014 5:57:43 amMay 18th, 2014

I have decided to discontinue this project due to loosing interest in it. I have also deleted the world so I will not be able to provide a download link for it.
If anyone was looking forward to a download...
I'm sorry.

Looks great! I'll bet you that this will be top 100! I'm working on one too, do you think maybe in a while, when I post a partially done version, you can give me some tips? :)

Great job!

Thank you. If you need some pointers when you've got yours up, I'll gladly give you a helping hand.
I can probably give you some pointers now, don't put anything into your build that might cause an increased amount of lag for the server.

For example, try not to include mob grinders. They will cause lag on the server due to the increased drops. Also try to keep redstone circuitry to a minimum or at least keep it simple. Don't make large circuits that require clocks and advanced cicuitry. These will cause just as much lag as the grinders

Alright, thanks! I wasn't planning on much, if any, redstone stuff, so I'm good with that. I don't think it needs a mob grinder anyways. :)

I just posted my spawn, and it kind of pales in awesomeness compared to yours, but hey, I gave it a shot. xD If you could check it out, I'd be really thankful!
