This Villager is very good AI because they honestly find a spot to mine and this villager is not other villager that mines spiral or straight line but this one can mine straight down, place torches, and If it reach to the bedrock.
The Villager will build up a cobblestone to go to the top and also he will break torches after he done mining.
Also this villager has good trades, If you're interest with this villager. Go ahead bring some emeralds and trade with him.
The Miner Villager can detect mining spot in 4 direction, making it can mine on his favorite spot.
He can also put sign to know every villagers/players that the miner was on his working.
