The Search for Frodo and Sam is an Open World Adventure map, inspired by the Shadow of War games. Survive in the inhospitable lands of Mordor. Gear up, with 10 different armor sets and over 35 different weapons. Fight over 20 unique kinds of enemies, with their own strengths and weaknesses! Defeat Chieftains for better loot and upgrade your gear to defeat even more powerful enemies. Discover 10 different locations with varying difficulties. Raid forts, uncover ancient treasures and fight Legendary enemies like the Balrog or Saruman!
So, what's the lore?
It takes place on a timeline where Saruman and the Witch King are not killed, but the siege on Minas Tirith still fails. Now the Dark Army is cornered and the Free People are dangerously closing in on them.
While all this is happening Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee have been sent on the quest to destroy the One Ring at Mount Doom. But its been weeks since anyone has heard of them. As a result an Elite team of Rangers was created to venture into Mordor and find them. You were part of that team. Unfortunatelly, you were ambushed at the caves of Shelob and have now been captured.
Now your task is to survive in the unforgiving terrain or Mordor, filled with all matter of deadly creatures and ultimately find the whereabouts of Frodo and Sam.

The terrain and most buildings where made by Divici who has been making the Middle-Earth for years. Here is the original map.
However, using this map in any of your own maps or servers is allowed, but must include a link of this post, if uploaded anywhere online and also a sign giving credit inside the server/map it self. Videos and pictures of this map do not require any kind of credit, but we would appreciate if you would credit us.

Things to note:
- This map was created for 3-4 people. In the cases where the map may seem hard, or easy, there are settings that can be changed to vary the difficulty.
- Knowing the lore of LOTR or playing Shadow of War is not required, but recommended for the full experience.
- Custom NPCs is a core mod that made this project available. It needs to be installed.
- Similarly, LOTR renewed is a core mod that needs to be installed.
- To load the mods, forge is also required.
- Optifine is recommended but not required.
- You may download mods like the Toro's Damage Indicators, to keep track of the enemy's HP, but its not required.
- No texture packs or shader packs are recommended.
- You are not supposed to break blocks(except cobwebs), or spawn items, but you can play the map however you like.
- You are also not supposed to use blocks like anvils and crafting tables.
- 95% of all chests are used as decoration. It will be clear when they are to be looted.

Known bugs and issues
- When using the Soul Campfire, it will sometimes apply the spawnpoint to the wrong player. This can be fixed by making sure that all the other players are 5 blocks away from the campfire when using it.
- When blocking with a Shield, or loading a Crossbow, while directly aiming at an enemy, the player will, instead of using the item, just not do anything. This cannot be fixed, since it seems to be an issue with the CustomNPCs mod.
