I built this Train Station and railway system in a server with my friends as a means of connecting people's homes to the main city/town.

The main train station sends you into the central splitter where you pick your cart back up, choose 1 of 14 different destinations, place your cart onto the splitter dispatch and it automatically paths you to the destination you selected. Each line goes to a different person's house where it dumps them off.

To make the flow of the system work better and avoid colliding carts, each person also got their own return line that takes them back to a central spot where all 14 rail lines converge to 1 rail line that goes back into the main station.

When arriving at the station the cart is dumped into a water flow that keeps the cart moving at a slow pace so the rider has plenty of time to leave. The cart is then sent to the departures upstairs where the carts are caught and held until someone pulls the lever to release the water and cart. The departures then go back to the central splitter

(The pictures will be uploaded in the order I discussed them in here to make it easy to follow along)

This build took me over a month to complete. People on the server helped me collect all the materials I needed which definitely sped up the process. Planning out the paths of all 14 outbound rail lines and 14 inbound rail lines was the most complex.
I decided to keep all outbound rails at Y = 49, or lower if needed, and then once the rail was close to the destination I bought it to the exact coordinates people wanted the rails to enter their house. The inbound rail lines converge at Y = 56. This was to ensure I never crossed paths with the outbound lines.

The rails cover thousands of blocks in all directions, I had to dig under the ocean which frequently dumped water into the tunnels while I dug them out. One of my friends wanted one of their rail lines to be glass-enclosed through the ocean which was a huge task and I nearly drowned myself a dozen times. I dug through ravines, caves, you name it. All tunnels are mob proof and well lit. This was probably my most ambitious project to date but it was a lot of fun.

If you have any questions regarding the system I built feel free to comment. I'll try to answer.
