This is made using features presented in an experimental snapshot. Details of the new potions of Oozing and its effects could be subject to change before the launch of 1.21.

You will need to be playing in snapshot 24w13a for this save file to work.

In the video I play around in Minecraft snapshot 23w13a where Mojang introduce a bunch of new effects, including the Oozing effect.

The Oozing effect when applied to mobs causes them to spawn 2 medium-sized slimes on death. I use this mechanic to make a new farm concept in this video.

By using only 4 slime blocks and a skeleton spawner, it is possible to make unlimited slime blocks. This has some interesting potential for early game farms players might make from skeleton (or zombie/spider) spawner farms. Now you can also have those farms producing slime too thanks to splash potions of Oozing. This can produce roughly 1 stack of slime blocks (that’s 9 stack of slime balls) per hour, passively. Being spawner based you do need to be within 16 blocks of the spawner for it function, but one overnight afk session at a farm like this should give you all the early-game slime you should need.

Its not the most efficient farm for slime on a the grander scale of what is possible, but a real possibility for early game slime acquisition.

My design is open to improvement. I threw it together hastily as a proof off concept, and I give it to the community to try and improve. I’m sure with some optimisations, this could become easier to build, and perhaps more efficient.

Please download the world and play yourself. I left instructions in the world file. Enjoy!
