A low valley with an unusual mastiff in the middle. Just the thing to add some variety to the terrain of your map.
Okay, wall-of-text time.
So, I game-master a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Yes, I am a nerd. One adventure had the heroes pursuing some thugs to a narrow valley. Protruding from this valley was a stone massif vaguely in the shape of a fist - the Knock - thrusting out of the ground. The heroes did what heroes do best (which involved, amongst other things, clambering up onto the mastiff and peppering the villains with arrows as the camped at the base of the structure), and the adventure concluded successfully. Except later, one of the players admitted that he never could quite visualize what the valley looked like. Apparently my description of the landscape just wasn't up to par.
So I jumped into Minecraft and made this design just to show him. Because I'm just that nerdy.
I still think it looks pretty nice (although the edges are admittedly rough). It makes for a nice change from the usual generic Minecraft terrain. See if you can find the hidden spider cave for bonus points.
Dimensions: 182W x 160L x 42H
Feedback is very welcome so leave a comment if you find this interesting.
Like all my designs, this is best used with the JohnSmithLegacy texture pack.
Like this design? Check out my Walled Medieval Town, my Motte & Bailey Castle, my Abandoned Farm, the Greenfeathers Inn and the Hill Manor.
You are welcome to use this design in any non-commercial mod or design of your own. Just give me proper attribution. Also, if you make your work available to the public please let me know; I'd love to see your designs too!

I hope to put up some more designs in the near future. The major time constraint at the moment is rendering time for Chunky. Anyone have a spare 8-core i7 they can spare? ;-)
