the (George) Washington Class is the first ship to be called an "Explorer". the E.S.S. Deimos is the most well known human ship ever created so far. it holds the record for most star systems charted: 12. the star systems are as follows: Hubble, Barnard's Star, Lalande 21185, Luyten 726-8, Fomalhaut, Sirius, WISE 0855-0714, WISE 1506+7027, 61 Cygni, Questar, Geiger, and System 892. the Deimos was constructed at the same lab as the Phobos. in 2008, the E.S.S. Deimos recovered the Voyager 2 Spacecraft, and the E.S.S. Pioneer recovered the Voyager 1. as for Voyagers 3,4,5,6, and 7, they have not been found. the E.S.S. Ida also visited the New Horizons spacecraft, and the E.S.S. Challenger found the wreckage of Pioneer 10, which had been hit by Comet Castovich-Taylor 314. the E.S.S. Deimos also saved the Space Shuttle Columbia after some launch damage compromised its reentry heat shield. NASA's review on the Washington class ship was negative in the preliminary stages, but they eventually approved of mass-production in 2002. since then, 18 ships have been made and there have been rumors of at least 22 more ships planned to be made. the Washington's main competition, however, is the Superior (John F.) Kennedy Class Starship, which has a more defensive capability and faster speed, but even then, the Washington will still be one of the most decorated classes of starship in United States history.
