I love it when that happens, it's very rare unlike commonly finding it on the ground just not moving to fill the area, but I like to build under it =) helps keep mobs out, but if you misplace a block (Putting a block too close to it or removing one to close, it all falls =(.

yea. it kind of sucks when it all falls, cuz im using the finite water mod, so when it falls the cave will flood. XD
