WELCOME TO THE WORLD FAMOUS "JIMBO'S PLACE"
any grover worth their salt knows about this beloved dive and cult haunt of of our beloved old man jimbo
going back to the old days
jimbos location was a fish camp for years going back to the 1930s
by the 50s a yound jimbo took ownership of the property and placed his own smokers
through unknown numbers of hardships and successes Old man jimbo was able to carve out a nice living there on the bay with the land leaced from the city
saddly as he grew ever older city's threats to take the land back grew ever more ruthless
ultamitley grandfathering clausing him in
he had a lease on the land until i figure some time into the 2030s
saddly as he aged everone knew years ahead that he would not make it that long
his children often joked and as i say this i mean this with the realness of a heart attack that they would often joke about "oh we'll just stuff dad and stick him in the corner leaning there that way he wouldnt have to leave the property"
and for a time after his passing his kids were for a short time able to keep the doors open
such films as 2fast2furiuos and shows lime miami vice, burn notice and dexter featured the local haunt
it is with great saddness to report the real life location is no more that after city refused to renew the lease to the kids that they came in and bulldozed the buildings and is now a park and kayak rental place
the only left is the shagged remnants of the T dock
my own mother and grand father (her father) are burried at sea at the end of that same dock
beers were a 1$ for domestics 1.50 for imports and sodas where .75$ and home to the best smoked fish in all of miami possible all of south florida
if you think i am wrong i BEG you to look up the pictures that are online of this WONDERFUL place
this was a place for good times and good times were most assuredly had
