As I state in the video, the Underwater City of Z13 (or Project Z13) was a collaboration between myself, and three other people namely being Cruoreign, Sharidan and IllinoisMoai. I suspect by a quick estimate that the city is 25%ish finished, seeing as we put a lot of detail into a few of the areas. However, it will not be finished on the current map that it's sitting, maybe we'll remake it one day.

We built this city on the Crafthub server (www.crafthub.net) around 5-6 months ago iirc, and we spent about a month on and off randomly building here and there when we felt inspired to build.

What was world edited?
*The hole we put the city in: It's by bedrock, its a square of about 256x64x256, it would literally take more than a year to dig out this hole and fill it with water. At least until Notch fixes water to not flow down if it's put in the air, and rather drain itself downwards.
*The glass domes. While we could have built these ourselves, it was a matter of being lazy.

Everything else was made by hand. Including the glass tunnels, the giant creeper, the various non-glass circles too.

What didn't I show in the video? Various things, our park area, the west dome with more residential buildings. Even though some of these things were finished, I just chose to skip them.

The reason we scrapped this project is .. well various things. The server became whitelisted which heavily drained the influx of new people, and personally I would have liked for it to be a city where people could go and explore, which is now impossible with guests not having warps or tps. Secondly we wanted to "sell" plots for a then in-game currency used by the server. Thirdly the server started seeing a lot of stability issues which made it hard to do things at times. Fourthly the rumor (now fact) that the new patches will force many servers to reset their maps, kind of bummed us out about building anything big.

So yeah, there was a lot of things to be taken into consideration when we stopped building here.

The city can be accessed through the ip: private.chserver.net - /warp Z13 or /res tp Z13 - However the server has become whitelisted so that guests are unable to warp or use tps. We also have a public server at public.chserver.net

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions if we actually do begin anew?

Additional Notes

This project is scrapped until the world maps stop requiring resets due to heavy game changes such as new biomes and what not.

What else would it be made out of if I might ask? I know it may be what everyone does. But honestly, there's a reason everyone uses it, it's the best choice.

Oh I get it, yeah we were thinking of that, but personally I wanted more room for greenery and parks, and domes easily provided it. We had plans of making spheres all over the water with various biomes and such as well. And yeah an underwater city like the other one there is pretty awesome. But the reason we wanted to go with the domes were so we could sell a dome/sphere to people, rather than have them fight to build a house underwater (easier for the newbies) - we were heavily counting on the in-game currency mod that the server had at the time for this project, even though it is cool by itself, it just lost some flair in that aspect.

oh i get it, i didnt realize you made it on a server, that makes a ton more sense as to why you used spheres for the purpose of selling them to other players etc....and i do like the interior. just at first glance it looked like the spheres just seemed like everyone else's creations.
