The goal of Acidblock is to survive and develop on an island in an ocean of acid, where touching any water will quickly lead to your death. The server combines many of the core aspects seen in normal Skyblock servers with new and unique mechanics that aim to provide a new challenge and experience to players that want to try something new, but not entirely alien to them. We are currently working on revamping many aspects of the server for 1.13+ (the server is currently still on 1.12), you can follow our development by joining our Discord server at "discord.io/acidblock".
Reworked maps
Maps have been reworked completely so that they automatically follow you around and allow for easy zooming. Useful for when you want to explore other player islands.
An advanced mob arena
The mob arena has its very own currency (earned through playing) that allows players to upgrade their class for longer survival time or purchase rewards that can be used to help develop their islands.
Optimized vanilla mechanics
We make many small changes to vanilla mechanics to improve gameplay on the server. A number of these changes are inspired by the Quark Forge mod.
Better dropped item handling
No more inefficiently clearing items every 5 or 10 minutes, dropped items clean up after themselves and despawn automatically after a certain amount of time. This method is much more efficient than using Clearlag and is actually built into Spigot itself.
Backwards support to 1.7
We support clients all the way back to 1.7, while our server continues to run securely on 1.12.2.
Improved combat mechanics
Players are able to fight like they would pre-1.9 while still being able to take advantage of the offhand mechanic introduced in 1.9. Hit detection is also optimized, meaning that you'll find an even better PvE and PvP experience on Acidblock than you would in vanilla 1.8.
Heavily optimized
We make a number of small changes to the mechanics in Minecraft to improve the performance and gameplay experience of the server, along with every plugin being heavily configured for performance and stability. This results in almost no TPS drops (lag).
A fair experience for everybody
We give a fair experience for all players while still allowing donators to get a large range of perks and benefits from supporting the servers development and not hurting the equality of the server in the process.
Cleanly designed
Everything from command messages to the format for the in-game chat has a clean, simple, and straightforward design that promotes a centralised and global look for everything on the server.
Frequent server updates
Improvements to the server and new features are constantly being worked on. We'll normally talk about upcoming changes in our Discord server, we also have an updated to-do list that you can find here.
Discord integrations
You're able to watch all the action happening on the server directly from Discord. Donators even have the ability talk to people in-game through Discord.
Very little downtime
We remain online all hours of the day and ensure all scheduled server restarts are properly announced prior to happening.
Simple to understand
Tying into our simplistic design, we make sure server mechanics are easy for players to understand and gradually master.

You took what made AcidIsland special, and removed it.
Not sure If there's a trick I didn't do, but having the barrier around my island prevents me from visiting other islands.
