The goal of the server in general is to make as realistic and detailed political and economic environment as possible. To this end, players are given the plugins to manage these things, from Towny to iConomy, and not given commands that would undermine this purpose, such as /spawn and /sethome.

The gameplay of Aftermath is intended to revolve around players. Players found their own nations, create most of the shops, build most of the buildings, and forge the lore by their own actions.

The only nation that is not player-run is Invicti, which is benevolently ruled by the Admin Party. Invicti is both a centralized place to do business and a place for new players and non-alligned individuals to live, aside from Noob Island. Invicti sells players land in small lots, so that they can establish houses and shops, allowing players to forge the very form of the city.

Now that the server runs Towny, nations are much more flexible and easier to implement. Players now can found a town even if all they have is themselves (and the prerequisite 7500 drachmai to found the town, plus some money for upkeep) - however, that won't be a very large town! The maximum size of a town will rapidly increase as more players join, and towns can join or form nations, which will allow them to become even larger and will grant political prestige (and the ability to declare war ;)). So invite your friends and create your empire!

Additionally, we are working on how we can implement HeroStronghold, another town plugin. It will allow us to not only improve the war mechanism, but also create buildings that actually do things! Exciting! :D

Aside from politics, the server is also enjoyable for its Spout plugins. Spout is a revolutionary plugin in minecraft that gives plugins much greater ability to impact the game, although it requires that each player run SpoutCraft in order for the effects to be visible. This is much easier than forcing each player to install individual mods, and gives the player access to entirely new items and blocks, and shouldn't require any further player installation once SpoutCraft is installed correctly (it essentially replaces Minecraft.exe as your launcher).

Additional Notes

Aftermath is a politics-themed server with a light amount of roleplay encouraged. We are hosted by BeastNode and can support 30 people at the moment, which can be expanded as needed. Aftermath runs Spout, which runs plugins that introduce guns, pavement, and more colorful blocks to our server, but SpoutCraft is not strictly necessary to join the server (although it is recommended). We also are currently using mcmmo, and also have many other plugins, such as DrugMeUp, BookWorm, Ports, and more! Our new world is not currently using a greylist.
