Make sure you're using the Technic pack, would need to see a crash log to know the error

If your client is freezing, you may need to allocate more memory to the Technic Launcher. You can do this by entering the Technic Launcher, clicking the cogwheel options icon/option menu and entering the java settings. You would set the memory allocation to 2GB. If you can’t change your memory allocation, you need to install 64 Bit Java.


In the event that you cannot allocate more than 1GB of memory, go to this site https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and install the Offline 64 Bit Java version.

I installed forge and used the IP given and it says that the server is out of date?

There is a lot more you have to do than just install Forge. Just use our Technic pack; locating all the mods to install this would be a hot mess.
