I truly miss this server a lot. I remember the first time I ever stepped into the great server. It was all so new, the IP address that I received from a random account on my mother's computer. I joined the game, and was so confused at first. I saw no one, and I questioned why it was called a multiplayer server. I didn't understand the basics of ANYTHING outside of vanilla. Then, one day, I saw someone spawn, and I was so excited to see another person. Can you imagine? Exploration of a giant hub, lonely as can be, and then someone just pops in. The player ran into one of the portals and vanished, leaving me very confused about what just happened. "(Can't remember name) left the game" So I thought he crashed. But then I decided to have a go through the portal, and what I saw amazed me. I spawned in an acacia house, the spawn, and looked around. It was so new to me, the style, the chat, everything was strange. People were talking, discussing things, and having fun with each other. I never had seen anything so cool in my life, because I was only about 9 years old. I found myself lost in the chat, the talking of perfect strangers filling my screen, and the colors amazed me so greatly. I walked out of the spawn, amazed at what I've just discovered for myself. I found myself giddy with excitement as I wandered out and met an old friend who I've lost in the tides of time. Her name was Pinkblade1. At first, as I wandered outside of spawn, she was crouching behind me, "stalking" me. I asked her what she was doing, but of course, the way a 9 year old talks, and she responded with: "nothing :3" She was the first person I ever met on the server properly. She walked me through the paths. On the way, since it was a survival towny server, and I had no idea of rules existing, I took a different path, and raided a bunch of furnaces on the side of the path. I was very suddenly warned by Owen_23. Someone who I would come to dislike greatly, as he ruined my chaotic 'fun.' I was upset, as I had only two warnings left. Pink lead me to a board of signs. There was a rule board! Who had ever heard of something so strange? Not me for sure. I read through them, questioned it greatly, as I never had heard of "Griefing" and "Raiding" before. These were all new things to me. I learned about /tpa, about /home, and about towny. I eventually joined a town called "Kamiki" (sounds Hawaiian) and that is where I learned about how to behave and be a good person on servers. The mayor, who was staff(I think), Kitkat1011123, gave me a house, I can't remember how I got this freaking fancy and wonderful quartz house, but I was so happy. I loved this new home. It was like a really fancy mansion, by the seaside, where I would always fish with my neighbor, Jonpro02. It was so fun. My funniest memories of the time were the times that Jon would try to hook up with Pink, and this one time that he was trying his best to flirt, Pink just suddenly shouted "I'M GAY" and Jon left the game in sadness. He didn't join for an entire four days afterwards. Pink explained to me that she wasn't actually gay, but she wanted him to leave her alone, and that was the only way should could give it to him. I explored around town so much, listening to this music that really gives me nostalgia nowadays. Some people really liked me, some people really despised me, but in the end, I was happy. I remember all three of my warnings before I got a temporary jail. Griefing the furnaces, defying staff, and taking an item frame from someone's house in the mesa desert. I was jailed after thomas1234 caught me with the third warning. That was humiliating, as he literally called out, "Everyone! Come check out who is in the jailhouse!" And everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, flooded around the jail. Here is the thing, though. People could view me at all angles, and I could do nothing about it, because I was in a giant glass orb. I was so embarrassed. Other times I got muted and banned was for talking in chat with excessive colors, caps, and loads of other things, too. Kitkat kicked me out of my house, once, which was not something I wanted to happen to me again. "GET THIS THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL" and I was out of the first towny. I miss those days where I was a noob, even if I was a rule breaker. The second time towny came around, when the map reset, I was so distraught at the fact I'd have to go through it all again. That is when I came to the conclusion that I was capable of making my own town. I didn't want to go away from Kamiki, so I ended up naming my town Kimki. I had many other memories there, my little town with a brick house, a dock, and an open meadow, with a somewhat plain and empty castle on the taller part of the moor. Large spruce trees growing infront, and a giant automatic farm deep underground that one of my favorite staff members, Mountaineer9, built. Lorddevington, who I had known for a while, stood by my side in the town, until we disagreed on the castle, about my views, and the fact that I liked the song "let it go", and he left to make his own town, who I rivaled. My town was the largest town, even though all of my members were simply invited and autojoining towns was something that happened. So, most of my members didn't even play. I can't remember but so much about my little town on the moor. At the time, factions had recently been released, but it wasn't something I wanted to go on, because all there was, was just a spawn with flat land, and a warzone. I didn't understand the point of 'fractions(how I thought it was)' It seemed so useless to me, and I ignored it until EVERYTHING I knew was turned upside down, and the once peaceful land of Gearworks Gaming became warring factions against one another. I was a pacifist, as everyone called me, and I was so offended by this, because I had no idea what it meant, so I assumed it meant something bad. Over time I learned the hardships of factions, but I learned the joy of absolutely destroying factions. Though, I didn't enjoy the destroying of my own faction. But I didn't care, because I was still running on the same server, I was still building on the same server, and I was still talking and loving being on the same server, even though it had gone through many different changes, it was still Gearworks Gaming. Then, everything I knew was thrown apart for good, because the server fell apart, and vanished forever. I never saw but 7 of my friends ever again. Lorddevington, Kaitiebee03, Jonpro02, Pinkblade1, who forgot me, and a three members of the staff. I always have held this server dear in my heart, and I continue to do so, even though many may not remember me, I remember them, and I don't want to forget; no, I won't forget. Because this server has given me so many memories, and so many great times that I will not forget, because they are a part of who I am now, as dumb as it may sound to have taken something to shape my life out of a minecraft server, it has, and I'm glad that it has. Thank you, Gearworks Gaming, for giving me this happiness that I can look back on throughout the years. Thank you.
