Is an Adventure server. On HARD difficulty.
Where full PVP/Griefing is allowed and encouraged.
Think of Savage Garden as one huge, constantly changing, MMO-like Adventure map,
where your greatest enemy may be the player sneaking up on you and not the dungeon boss ahead (Although the boss will probably drop better loot).
What Does This Should This Mean To You?
Although the gamemode is now Survival, we are attempting to create a true Adventure experience.
Although you can break blocks with anything, given enough time, there are permissions in place, in certain areas, to ensure that
the adventure of the server is maintained. In order to help you on your quests
You will spawn in with a full set of leather armor, stone tools, food, and a Field Guide that will tip you off to an adventure
hidden steps from spawn.
You can also use /kit Starter once a day to get a new set of leather armor, stone tools, and food if needed.
You will also receive the "Savage Garden Field Guide" when spawning in, to give you some tips on survival and gameplay.

Why take the time to Adventure?
Minecraft has a unique ability to become a game within a game.
And, although it may not be for everyone, Adventure maps represent a unique variation on that.
Parkour, Mazes, Puzzles, Boss Battles, Side quests, Hidden paths, Chests, Spawn traps, Dungeons, Easter eggs, Storylines and more!
Savage Garden has the expected PVP and Mob Arenas like most servers but we also have ALL of the above, ALL custom created, and ALL new ones constantly being created. Some are far from spawn and some are literally right next to it.
And all of these things are accessible by any player! You just need to take the time to go on an adventure.
On most servers the Staff spend a lot of time flying around Vanished or standing in one spot at Spawn as they monitor chat.
On Savage Garden, we spend our time building, designing, crafting. and experimenting ....and monitoring chat of course.
BUT, with all of that said, there is no reason for you to do any of it...unless you want to. If your goal is to just escape into the wilderness, build up resources, then trounce anyone and everyone you find, then so be it. Feel like hanging around in the PVP arena and destroying some Prot IV armor, that's fine too.
We built an Adventure server to offer a true Multiplayer Adventure element in a landscape governed by the rules of Survival.
Bring a team of 20 people into a dungeon to fight a Mob Boss or don't. Go breed horses instead.
No quest is linear, all choices are yours, a truly open world for you and those who threaten you to decide how the game should be played!
The Essential Info
What about commands for all users?
In a server like Savage Garden every little edge helps. And we've built the server to accommodate the Player NOT the Payer. You earn ranks simply for playing Minecraft. Mine some stone, kill a few pigs, smelt some iron....all of these things and more will work towards your next rank. And with the rank will come the next exclusive /kit access.
And the very first rank? Will get you /home, no donating, no registering, just play for 15 minutes and collect some stone!
Feeling hungry? No non-hostile mob in sight? A quick registration at SavageGardenMC.com will not only track your ranks on our site but also give you immediate access to /heal!
Why register?
Why not? It's quick, easy, and free. But if that isn't enough, along with /heal, your in-game ranks are tracked through the site, not only giving you a nifty corresponding tag next to your name for the forums but also awarding you at least 100 Savage Garden Enjin Points for every in-game rank up. These points can be spent in the Donor Shop in place of actual money.
Any Tool of the Trade or Legendary Item is purchasable with points alone.

Every vote will get you 5 XP Bottles in-game, that is up to 30 bottles a day!
Also, every 2 votes will get you a bonus Enjin point!
NOTE: You don't need to be registered to vote and receive the XP bottles, however points require registration.
What about donating?
As we've already said, not necessary to play AND not necessary to win, however, every little bit helps keep Savage Garden going that much longer so we do have some awesome rewards to supplement your adventure.
You can check out the Donor Ranks for specifics. But here's list of just some of the rewards.
/tpa, /heal, /recipe, /workbench, /near, /world, up to 16 total /homes, 3 different types of Jet Packs, and more!
Keep in mind that the granted commands will vary based on tier of donation and all Donor Ranks come with tons of in-game loot as well.
You can also "rent" Safe Rooms or Suites which allow you to keep items safe from would-be griefers. Think of them like extended Enderchest storage.
Jet Packs?
Oh yes, and infinite Fall Boots as well. Although able to be worn by any player in the game, only donating to a specific level will give you the ability to craft or use them. You can find more info on them here.
What happened to no advantages for the donators?
We never said no advantages, we said the server is not and never will be a pay to win server.
There is nothing on the server that can't be accomplished by simply playing Minecraft. That said, the perks awarded to donators and even just registered users (which is free) certainly help you along the way.
What about the rules?

Do not abuse in-game glitches

The Technical Questions
What plugins do you use?
Like most servers we have the typical selection of plugins to protect the server from hacks and abuse. However, given the enormity of what we've done with Permissions, Tweaks, Custom dungeons, builds, and objectives we are running a surprisingly short list of plugins. And aside from the protection plugins, the few that keep us from claiming "Vanilla" are EasyJetpack, Autorank, and Essentials.
So how are you building the dungeons and other quests with so few plugins?
We have all become extremely well versed in the vanilla components of Minecraft and their many intricacies. Command blocks, redstone, tons of custom summon and testfor commands, etc. Plugins are great but the accompanied lag of running a server full of them is not something we ever want to experience. And we pride ourselves on running a server of contained, efficient, minimalist coding and building techniques.
What's the hardware?
We are currently running on 4GB Dedicated Ram and 25GB SSD. But we'd love to upgrade as soon as we have the need!

Our Mob Arena has been completely redesigned. Now four times larger and immensely more dangerous, the arena's built in automation auto checks for players in specific areas, activating and deactivating more spawners based on the number of active fighters. So let's scale this battle up and slaughter the undead with as many friends as possible.

Now officially open is the brand new and ridiculously improved Mob Arena
Now four times larger, with even fewer places to hide and more mobs than you will ever feel is necessary. The improved Mob Arena now features an intelligent spawning system, the more people enter = more mobs to fight. Random mob spawns have now been turned on as well. So hug a creeper while running from a witch for some extra fun!
