SteamFront Studios presents Age of Storms!

Age of Storms is a massive, Minecraft survival adventure map with emphasis on exploration and baroque lore immersion. Featuring fantastical custom monsters, weapons, items and mechanics to tie them all together.

The Story. . .

The old regime is dead and the people have fled to the outskirts of the realm to start their own nations. Are you the hero this sorrowful land needs?

New dark forces are rising and you must choose to join them, rebel against them or forge your own path. Profess a class to hone your skills. Harness the power of the arcane arts or build epic weapons. Fight mythical beasts and build a nation; or raid other nations. This open fantasy world has much for every type of player.

A large open world divided after the cataclysm. Races fled and formed factions and build up strength for the next war. Build your kingdom, or join one of the many already existing cities, races, guilds or classes.
Be a mage, fighter, cleric, ranger, wanderer, merchant, or captain your own ship and forge your destiny in this world of magic and and mystical technology!

Age of Storms needs a partner (or partners) in building this game. We have many existing builds and plans in place, but need a person to strategize and build skills, battle systems, lore, magic spells, monsters, dungeons and much more.

Here are some of the things I have working/am working on.


: Attributes (STR, INT, DEX) - upgraded with points given for quests, dungeon raids, etc. Each contributes to different skills in the game

:: Race system - Unique Deluvian races, and classic beloved races such as elves and dwarves. Each race can upgrade up (e.g. ages) and gains new abilities/buffs

:: Class system - Choose a profession to gain access to hundreds of skills, most of which can be upgraded, for each class.

:: Natural skill gains - Gain in skills such as mining, lumberjacking, blacksmithy, combat proficiency and much more, just by using the skill. As the skill levels up, you can access rarer ores/wood, and unlock special abilities associated with each natural skill

:: Customized combat system - The vanilla combat system and weapons are still there, but added on is RPG-style amendments, such as swing speed, accuracy, dodge, and leveling up combat proficiency, and much more.

:: Customized weapons - weapons and items have tons of properties to make them unique and powerful. Some of have magical properties that can be found as treasure, or crafted and imbued with gems or etched runic glyphs.

:: Customized crafting - Vanilla crafting is still there for the classic players, but layered on top is crafting using custom ores and wood, and imbuing with special magical items and gems. Repair or upgrade existing items to be more powerful. With all permutations, there are hundreds of thousands of weapons.

:: Custom monsters - Classic rpg beasts and fauna and some invented with my imagination. These monsters will have their own stats and behaviors.

:: Magic - The arcane arts, being near and dear to my heart, is given much thought and depth. There will be thousands of magical spells and they are segmented out by the circles of knowledge and elemental powers of Deluvia.

:: Customized textures/GUIs/HUDs - I will show images of these soon, but we have dozens of GUIs for different mechanics in the game. An example of a custom HUD is the custom mana bar which gains with your "Mana Regeneration" stat and depletes as you cast spells.

I've been working on custom game mechanics for for nearly two years now and it is so refreshing to be away from other plugins and design every part of the game so that it integrates as one whole. Things are getting faster as I am getting better at understanding Denizen and everything it can do. I am faster at writing code and making it do what I want it to do.
Late in 2021 I converted everything over to Bungee, which was a little hassle, but I hope it pays off as it distributes the server realms across many VPSs in hopes that there is less lag, and that a crash on one server, still leaves the other worlds up and running.

There has been a lot of cleanup of code and small utility functions to help gel everything across mechanics. A lot of focus has been given on making sure stats transfer between bungee realms and are backed up.

Lore and character narratives have been focused on as well giving the guest a more immersive experience. I've been adding some specialized mobs and dungeons, but they are WIP.
